During the single stage dental implant surgery, the implant is placed in the jaw bone in such a way that the top of the implant is higher than the surface of the bone and is actually at the height of the soft tissue (this is a longer implant).

When the soft tissue is stitched up at the end of the dental implant surgery the dental implant head is exposed and visible to the eye. After the healing time has passed there is no need for another surgery for exposing the top of the head of the implant because it is exposed to begin with and all the dentist needs to do is connect the dental implant abutment and start the restoration process.

Both dental implant types have the same success rate of 98% and it is usually up to the dentist to decide which type of dental implants to use. There is no big difference, essentially it’s just what the dentist is used to and feels comfortable working with.

If, for some reason, the dental implant dentist leaves the decision to you then you can choose either one but the one stage dental implant type is a bit shorter and a less painful procedure.

The above FEE SCHEDULE is for Standard Implant Cases ONLY (assuming there is sufficient bone width and height) where 3.5 mm. diameter and wider implants can be utilized, and DOES NOT include: Radiographs, Diagnostic Wax-ups, Study Models, Surgical Guides, Temporary Prostheses, Extractions, Oral Hygiene Instruction or Bone Grafting Procedures when/if required. (The majority of these procedures are not required for standard implant cases).

An old friend of mine had a pair of dentures with one of the teeth that had a gold cap with a diamond and gold cross engraved to it. I have a silver crown on one of my back permanent tooths. I try to avoid smiling big because it is slightly noticeable. Can these silver ones be replaced with a white one?

I’m having crowns done in the entire front of my mouth (8 on top, 6 on bottom). The temporary crowns are horrible, I have sensitivity, can’t eat most things, etc. Plus, now the whole process of fitting for the permanent crowns has been a nightmare. I’ve heard that the permanents are great, you can eat anything, look and function beautifully, no pain, etc.

Does anyone have any experience that they can share? Thanks.
